SmartChoice turns any barcode — food, cosmetics, cleaning products, or supplements — into an instant, ingredient-based verdict with a 0–100 score and the reasons behind it. EKPK built the whole platform: the rules engine, the API, the website, and the iPhone app.

What it does

One scan. Four categories. A clear answer.

The category is auto-detected from the barcode — no menus to dig through — and every ingredient is cross-referenced against regulatory and scientific sources including the FDA, EFSA, IARC, and EPA.

Food

Additives, dyes, sweeteners, and processing flagged against 17+ regulators.

Cosmetics

Parabens, sulfates, formaldehyde releasers, and fragrance allergens.

Cleaning

Harsh solvents, quats, bleach, phosphates, and more.

Supplements

Banned actives, mega-doses over safe limits, and proprietary blends.

Personalized Verdicts

Set allergens, diets, and ingredients to avoid — every scan gets a "for you" read, synced across devices.
